The forklift is a material handling machine used to lift and transport loads from one place to another. Each and every forklift part has a particular function. Different components could be utilized to move the load vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The components utilized to lower and lift the load is referred to as the forklift mast. There are various types of masts for lifting loads to different heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is located in the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is under the back of the truck.
Cab
Situated in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, which are situated at the back in order to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
