Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the machinery should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. For instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
