Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries during 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism really impressed a lot of clients and thus, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into production with articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all around the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the initial years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
The DC and Bi-Energy equipment provided by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machinery should be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machine.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These machines are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
