What is the Difference between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts is among the most popular questions about this kind of machinery. Each tire type is particularly right for various requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air in them, similar to vehicle tires. These tires are ideal for indoor use but they are most effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on uneven and gravel surfaces.

Used mostly for indoor operations, the cushion tires are designed just like a solid industrial tire. The tire will only be effective outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machinery. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are particularly designed for steering. Traction tires located on the forklift's back will simply wear out faster. Therefore, if you do need to work outside, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front will be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?

It can be quite tricky when trying to know the main distinction between the two kinds of tires. They will work well in both in gravel and asphalt conditions. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them because they are strong. These kinds of tires are more pricey than air pneumatic tires as they are made up of way more rubber. These kinds of tires are best suited for places like for example scrap yards and lumber yards where there can be lots of debris or sharp objects on the ground.

The pneumatic tire can be punctured accidentally. You can get flat tires from them when this happens. Prior to operating a forklift with air pneumatic tires, inspect your work area and be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires function great.
