Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into consideration with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, whereas some would use particular guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks consist of Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular models in compact retail spaces and in some storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks could operate within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models such as Reach Trucks. They are usually used in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is really big and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more effective while limiting exhaustion.
